ALS, one page, 7 x 8.75, Gray Gables letterhead, July 8, 1892. Handwritten letter to the publishers G. P. Putnam & Son, in part: "Your letter offering to present to me no. 1493 of the 'Life of Columbus' which you propose to issue, is at hand. Such a kindness on your part would be exceedingly gratifying." In very good to fine condition, with scattered light foxing and toning, and short splits to the ends of the folds. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Cleveland's hand.
