Group of five figures from Papua New Guinea. Includes one Sawos people Gable Mask depicting the Subut bird from the people of Papua New Guinea’s creation story. This mask was included in, "The Bird and the Flute, Mythic Images of New Guinea," an exhibition held at the Eide/Dalrymple Gallery, Augustana College, 2013. Also two ancestor figures, one with cowrie shell eyes from the Middle Sepik River region, and one from the Trobriand Islands, Milne Bay. With a food hook/suspension hook. Dimensions: Heights range from 15 1/2 in to 35 1/2 in. Widths range from 4 1/2 in to 11 in.
