Willem (Guillaume Anne) van der Brugghen was born in Nijmegen on 2 November 1811 and died in Ubbergen on 18 July 1891. Pupil of Jan Hendrik Breijer and Pieter Gerard van Os. Teacher of Karel Elias van Toulon. He worked in Ubbergen from 1839 onwards. Known for his hunting and animal scenes. He painted still-lifes and landscapes.
