Signed in the bottom right. Panel dimensions 24 x 31 cm. Frame size 39 x 46 cm. The frame has some signs of use. Yellowed varnish. Minor edge damage. Two craquelures in the middle right. Willem (Guillaume Anne) van der Brugghen was born in Nijmegen on 2 November 1811 and died in Ubbergen on 18 July 1891. Pupil of Jan Hendrik Breijer and Pieter Gerard van Os. Teacher of Karel Elias van Toulon. He worked in Ubbergen from 1839 onwards. Known for his hunting and animal scenes. He painted still-lifes and landscapes. He painted figures in landscapes by Dubourcq, among others. Etcher, painter and draughtsman. The photos are part of the provided description of the work.
