Guillaume Van Strydonck and Charles van der Stappen were both members of the avant-garde group 'Les XX'. Above this, they were dear friends, as shown in these two portraits of each other wives.
Condition: - the painting: two restored perforations to the back of the canvas (left and right side), logically overpainted areas to the front of the work, the bottom right corner with a small horizontal tear to the canvas
- the bust: wear all over, the base restored, the right ear with large chips, the left ear with restoration, some overpaint
- furthermore, both items appear in our opinion in acceptable condition.
