Footnote: Note: This unpublished work, by the author of Athènes ancienne et nouvelle, 1675, and Lacédémone ancienne et nouvelle, 1676, both published under the name of his brother Guillet de la Guilletière, was possibly intended as a continuation of L'etat present de l'empire des Turcs, contenant la vie du Sultan Mahamet IV, found in the author's history of Athens mentioned above. The manuscript was at one time in the possession of the antiquary and author B.-B. Moreau de Mautour, who has initialled each page except the last, which has his signature, and who has made a number of revisions to the text. Provenance: Bookplate of A.C. Lascarides and C.J. Arvantidi, and pencil note "Given to me by Marietta as a memorial and token of thanks after the death of Toussa Lascarides; From the Library of the Late William St Clair
