Gustav Ecke: Chinese Domestic Furniture. Peking: Henri Vetch 1944. 1st ed. Folio. (38.0×26.5 cm.). Complete with 161 uncoloured plates illustrating 122 pieces, 7 pages of text (leaves numbered VI-XI) and an introductory pamphlet, unopened. Limited edition of 200 copies. Loose leaves as issued. All housed in the orig. blue cloth folder with printed paper labels and 1 (of 2) sliding bone clasps (fitting into cloth holders).

The German and later American art historian Gustav Ecke first published his Chinese Domestic Furniture during the wartime in China in 1944. The work describes the techniques of construction for cabinetmakers.

Provenance: The Danish architect and writer Tobias Faber (1915–2010), professor at the Royal Danish Academy's School of Architecture and the Academy's president from 1954 to 1973.
