Prior to the famous exhibit, The Arts and Crafts Movement in America, 1876-1916, organized by Robert Judson Clark at the Princeton University Art Museum in 1972, the Metropolitan Museum of Art's 19th-Century America: Furniture and Other Decorative Arts is regarded as the actual first rediscovery of works by Gustav Stickley.
Condition Report: Probably an old refinish. Original pegs but the washers are missing. Reupholstered years ago. Structurally sound.
