Catalog Note:
Prior to the famous exhibit, The Arts and Crafts Movement in America, 1876-1916, organized by Robert Judson Clark at the Princeton University Art Museum in 1972, the Metropolitan Museum of Art's 19th-Century America: Furniture and Other Decorative Arts is regarded as the actual first rediscovery of works by Gustav Stickley.
Condition Report: Good original finish. Some veneer lifting and chip to interior lid. Some splitting on interior of cabinet at the hinges. Minor cracks to wood consistent with age and use. Structurally sound. Plywood exterior back probably partially replaced.
