Guus van Dongen (1878-1946)
Still life with chrysanthemums. Signed centre left. Guus van Dongen (born Juliana Johanna Augusta Preitinger in Germany) moved to Rotterdam together with her family when she was young. She would later study at the Rotterdam Academy of Visual Arts (currently Willem de Kooning Academy). It was at the academy where she met her future husband Kees van Dongen. In 1899 they moved to Paris together where their artistic careers would flourish.
