HANDEL 6688 TABLE LAMP WITH REVERSE PAINTED SHADE

HANDEL 6688 TABLE LAMP WITH REVERSE PAINTED BUTTERFLIES IN FLORAL DESIGN SHADE, H 24", DIA 18" Shade signed at rim "Handel" and numbered '6688'. The shade has four brightly colored butterflies flying amongst pastel flowers. The bronze fitter rim at the top of the shade is signed "Handel Lamps" Pat. No. 970664. The bronze base has three legs with an acanthus-leaf motif.
The lamp has been in the consignor's family for over 80 years. It was first owned by the consignor's God Mother, Mary Louise Bryne of Detroit, MI. By descent to Maureen F. O'Connor, Detroit, MI. By descent to the consignor. Dimensions: Condition Report: The shade has no losses with strong colors. Appears to retain its original fittings with modernized wiring. No losses to edges.
