These two military watches are incredibly rare for a variety of reasons. First of all, the models were exactly the ones used during World War II by Luftwaffe pilots. They were issued according to the specific requirements of the pilot's mission and returned when no longer required (e.g. in case of injury or death). Secondly, their conditions are worthy of mention. Finding these watches with all their genuine parts, matching serial numbers and in working conditions is the ultimate dream of a military watches' collector. Lastly, they both developed a beautiful tropical patina over the hands and numerals, difficult to match.
Similar examples can be found in the book by Konrad Knierim, Military Timepieces, pp. 361, 362, 363 and 364.
