HARLOR THILDA: (1871-1970) Jeanne Fernande Perrot. French Feminist & Writer, the first director of the Bibliotheque Marguerite Durand from 1937. A.L.S., Harlor, four pages, small 8vo, n.p. (Paris), 6th July 1937, to a lady, on Republique Française printed stationery also featuring a purple rubber stamp of the Bibliotheque Marguerite Durand, in French. Harlor thanks her correspondent and remarks that her poster and documents relating to the Union of Women will be most welcome at the library, further remarking 'And even though I would personally be very interested in the complete edition you told me about, our library is dedicated solely to works written by women, or about women'. Together with a second A.L.S., Harlor, two pages, 8vo, Paris, 16th February 1947, to a lady, on Republique Française printed stationery also featuring a purple rubber stamp of the Bibliotheque Marguerite Durand, in French. Harlor warmly thanks her correspondent for a gift which she had generously donated to the library, remarking 'This book will be given a place of honour, as it should be, amongst our most precious books' and continuing 'Would you please pass on to Madame la Duchesse de Vendome the expression of our gratitude, since she was kind enough to sign her Croix des Alpes. And I wish she knew how much I enjoyed looking at her watercolours, some melancholic, some with rich colours, some of them gracious with their flowers and their happy skies. All of them display such sense of harmony and precision, which leaves a delightful memory to one's eye'. Some very light, extremely minor age wear and creasing, about VG, 2 Les Croix des Alpes was an illustrated book by Princess Henriette of Belgium (1870-1948) Duchess of Vendome, published in 1937.
