HARPERS FERRY 1855/1857 REPRODUCTION RIFLE

[ translate ]

SERIAL NUMBER: NSN. BARREL: 33". CALIBER; .58. This custom reproduction of the Type I Model 1855/1857 Harpers Ferry Rifle is an exceptionally faithful recreation of a rare, pre-Civil War American firearm from its first year of production. The rifle features a 33-inch round steel barrel finished in a rich slow-rust brown and stamped with the historical "VP" (Viewed and Proved) proof mark at the breech. It is stocked in premium black walnut, accented by brilliant, polished brass hardware-including the nose cap, flat barrel bands, trigger guard, buttplate, and a deeply inletted patchbox on the right side of the buttstock. The mechanical focal point is its color case hardened Maynard tape primer lock, which showcases a vibrant, mottled finish of blues and charcoals and is stamped with the correct "1857" date on the lock tail. On the stock flat opposite the lock, a crisp "ELA" (Erastus L. Avery) inspector's cartouche completes the highly detailed, armory-accurate presentation. Complementing the rifle is a heavy Saber Bayonet designed to mount securely to a dedicated lug welded on the right side of the muzzle. The bayonet features a 20 ?-inch curved, yataghan-style steel blade with a prominent weight-reducing fuller running down its length. Its handle consists of a solid-cast, ribbed brass hilt and crossguard with a spring-loaded locking mechanism operated by a thumb button. CONDITION: Very Good. Operates normally. NON FFL GEB
