HARPERS FERRY US M1842 PERCUSSION MUSKET.
Cal. 69. Approx 100,000 M1842 muskets were produced by Harpers Ferry from 1844-55. Fit with a 42" round bbl with integral bayo lug and V/P/Eagle. It is held in place with 3 bbl flat bbl bands. The front band has an integral brass blade front sight. Lock is marked at the rear HARPERS/FERRY/1846 and Eagle/US at the center. Iron furniture. US marked buttplate. K/50 rack number found on the stock. CONDITION: Overall good. The metal components have turned to an even dark patina. Markings are good. The stock has a small crack at the rear of the lock and a chip along the bbl channel. (01-30060/ZAL) ANTIQUE $1000-1500
