HATTORI TADASABURO (DIED 1939) OF NAGOYA
A Pair of Cloisonné-Enamel, Moriage, and Musen Baluster Presentation Vases
Meiji (1868-1912) or Taisho era (1912-1926), early 20th century
Each body finely decorated in musen ('wireless') and silver wire with identical designs of clumps of leafy flowering yellow chrysanthemums, rendered in moriage ('heaped up') enamels on one side and contrasting yellow musen ('wireless') enamel on the other, the waisted neck decorated with a large 16-petalled white kiku mon (chrysanthemum crest) worked in gold wire on the front and back, all reserved on a pale-greyish green ground, each vase applied with a silver rim and foot, each vase signed in silver wire on the base with the seal Hattori kinsei (Respectfully made by Hattori); each vase with an unrelated wood stand. Each vase: 30cm (11¾in) high. (4).

Meiji (1868-1912) or Taisho era (1912-1926), early 20th century
