HEART OF OAK Artist: Lydia Monks Sheffield’s identity is deeply rooted in its landscape. As a city
HEART OF OAK Artist: Lydia Monks Sheffield’s identity is deeply rooted in its landscape. As a city bustling with green spaces and ancient trees, the people of Sheffield are fiercely protective of its mighty canopy, defending it with the strength of a lion when called upon. Inspired by Richard Hawley’s song, Heart of Oak, this design follows the life of an oak as it evolves throughout the year – from the fresh greenery and new life of spring, to the vibrant oranges and sleepy surrender of autumn. Oak trees are always, silently, playing their part in bringing life, colour and energy to our city.
