Watercolor on paper by Hemen Majumdas (1894-1948) of woman carrying pots. Hemendranath Majumdas was a very well known painter of Bengal. In 1910 he joined the Government School of Art in Calcutta(now Government College of Art & Craft Kolkata.) From 1911 to 195 he studied at Jubilee Art School, Calcutte. In 1919 he founded Indian Academy of Fine Arts along with Jogeshchandra Seal, Jamini Roy, Bhabani Charan Laha and Atul Bose. Originalframe, very old, not inspected out of frame, signed in bottom right corner by artist. 4 x 5 image size. Good condition. Shipping 10 1/2in x 8 1/2in 1/2in, 1 pound.
