Edo period (1615-1868) or Meiji era (1868-1912) mid-/late 19th century
The brass ground applied in high relief of gold, bronze and silver with one side showing Daikoku standing beneath a shimenawa (sacred straw rope) holding his large sack over his shoulder with one hand and brandishing a mallet with the other, two small tama (jewels) falling to the ground, more tama and a precious coin among pine saplings on the reverse, signed Hidehisa with a kao; the interior risers of silver. 7.7cm x 6.5cm (3 1/16in x 2 9/16in).
