HOBBS NO. 323 DEW DROP / HOBNAIL SHADE KEROSENE HANGING / LIBRARY LAMP, rubina umbrella-form shade with satin finish to colorless, brass frame featuring a simple globular font vase with an oval bead band, scrolling supporting harp arms, matching patterned stamped shade band and leveler, various patterned motor cover, shade crown, and brass drop-in font. Fitted with colorless cut-glass prisms. Shade Hobbs, Brockunier & Co. Fourth quarter 19th century. 41 1/2" HOA. Shade: 6 1/4" H, 13 7/8" D fitter.
Frame with expected wear and some light scattered denting, font with several drilled holes due to previous electrifying, shade with a shallow chip to the interior top rim which does not affect the profile and as-made mold roughness to the fitter. Lacking burner components, prisms with expected scattered imperfections.
