Description: August 1913 BATAVIA. Gewoon Aandeel Fl.1000. buff, black. # 200. No 209. Minor edge-damage but also one large tear, repaired with old style tape. The hotel was originally built in 1837 and named the "Hotel Palais Royale". It was one of the 3 grand hotels in the colonial capital, together with the Hotel des Indes and the Grand Hotel Java. It was demolished in 1969.
