The Classic Fusion Berluti represents one of Hublot’s most distinctive explorations of material and fashion, bringing together the manufacture’s celebrated ‘Art of Fusion’ philosophy with the exceptional leather craftsmanship of the renowned Parisian shoemaker Berluti. Following Hublot’s experiments with unconventional materials including denim, camouflage and lace, the collaboration sought to reinterpret leather beyond its traditional use for watch straps by incorporating it directly into the dial itself.
At the heart of the watch is an extraordinary Berluti leather dial, distinguished by its rich tobacco-brown colour, subtle grain and characteristic warm patina. The Hublot signature and hour markers are embossed directly into the leather, preserving the purity of the material while creating a highly unusual three-dimensional effect. Despite its unconventional construction, the leather dial was subjected to the same stringent resistance testing as Hublot’s conventional dials, ensuring its suitability for use within a mechanical wristwatch.
Completing the concept, the watch is presented in an elaborate Berluti leather box conceived in the spirit of the shoemaker’s traditional packaging. Decorated with the same distinctive Scritto motif as the strap, it further emphasises the close relationship between the two Maisons and makes the Classic Fusion Berluti a particularly successful expression of Hublot’s philosophy of combining traditional watchmaking with unexpected materials and craftsmanship.
