In excellent overall condition—
The colors are in very good condition; the reds, superbly preserved, display magnificent intensity and masterfully highlight the face.
Very good original gloss.
Minor imperfections: in the lower portion, there are slight traces of surface oxidation as well as a subtle crease located in the lower left corner, neither of which affects the superb aesthetic quality or the legibility of the image.
Hutchinson was founded in 1853 in Châlette-sur-Loing, 100 km south of Paris, by Hiram Hutchinson.
This American entrepreneur, a recent immigrant to France, had filed the first French patent for rubber vulcanization, which formed the basis for the company’s first product: the “A l’Aigle” boots, designed to keep feet dry.
In 1890, Hutchinson shifted to manufacturing bicycle tires.
By 1905, Hutchinson had already turned his attention to the automotive sector.
In 1910, Hutchinson entered the aeronautics industry.
