This vintage German hand painted porcelain plaque dates from the late 19th century & is attributed to the artist Angelo Asti. The oval painted plaque beautifully depicts a lovely fair skinned young lady with flowing hair. She is posed in a diaphanous garment that partially reveals her breasts. The presumed artist Asti is known for painting his female subjects in this manner. Though unsigned the quality & subject of this work of art leads us to believe it to be attributed to Asti. The porcelain plaque is framed within an ornate gilt gold gesso frame. The frame & plaque are then show cased within a blackened wood shadow box with a clear glass front. This style was typical of the Victorian period in chelate 1900's. The condition of the porcelain is excellent. The gilt frame with minor flakes & the wooden box is very good.Box: 14 1/8" wide X 15 5/8" long X 3" deepPorcelain: 4" wide X 5 1/8" long
