He is known as the admirer of Ogata Kōrin. A part of a hanging down plum tree branch fills the scroll. The brushwork and the bold composition gives an impression that it was painted with careful and deep consideration. The signature “Uka Dōjin Hōitsu hitsu” tells that this painting was painted after he moved to Uka-an where he lived in his later years. He had lived there since 1809.
