14 plates from the Weisskunig series, the fictitious biography of Emperor Maximilian I, dictated by
him from 1506 to 1516. Between 1514 and 1616, a group of artists, including Beck and Burgkmair, worked on a total of 251 illustrations, which were not published at the time. In 1775, after the rediscovery of the woodblocks in Castler Ambras, a full edition of woodcuts was published.

The lot includes the following plates: 2 ?, 52, 67, 69, 113, 130, 155, 160, 191, 199, 213, 228, 230. Bartsch.VII.224 and alt .; Hollstein, no. 459 and alt.

Fine proofs on laid paper, almost all with watermark. Some applied on cardboard support. In very good condition except for a few minor defects.
