Autograph letter signed by Hans Christian Andersen to Andreas Linde, Head of the Royal Theatre. Dated 11 October 1874. One page. In the letter, Andersen asks Andreas Linde (1814–1888), who was head of the Royal Danish Theatre and Orchestra from 1866 to 1876, whether Martin Henriques would be permitted to use the ticket belonging to his friend, Counsellor Christensen from Hobro, who was unable to use it himself. The diaries: 11 October 1874: “Dinner at Henriques’s; he had been asked to hand over to Linde the ticket that the former theatre director, Christensen, had been allocated, and asked me to write a few words to Linde asking if Henriques might keep it, as it was close to my three seats, Melchior and Mrs Melchior had the two seats numbered 22 and 20; I was seated at the end of the row, in seat No. 18.
