Hans Nickel (1916-1986) - Zwei Pferde
Hans Nickel was born on December 29, 1916 in the Sudetenland (Mährisch Lotschnau, Zwittau district) . He received a state scholarship and studied church painting at the art school in Brno under Professor Langer.
He undertook study trips to southern European countries as well as Hungary, Austria and Switzerland. During the Second World War he worked as a war painter in Poland, Russia and France. He then settled as a painter in Altdorf near Nürtingen (Baden-Württemberg) , where he worked with Professor Lichtblau in Stuttgart, among others. The artist made a big name for himself at home and abroad with his animal motifs. He also used the names "Hans Costa", "Hand Bräuning" and "Hanauska".
