Harissart - Lehman Brothers (DIS)CREDIT CARD - Bull Shit Market - Subprime Madoff
Artist: Harissart
Technique: RELIEF PRINTING ON ALU-DIBOND
Signature: Hand signed
On September 15, 2008, the American bank Lehman Brothers, a monument of global finance, collapsed, leaving behind a hole of more than 600 billion dollars. What Wall Street fears most becomes reality: a major bank fails, throwing financial markets and the global economy into a huge unknown.
The story of the fall of an institution so established, so ancient and so important that it was believed to be eternal is fascinating. The bank had largely participated in the dissemination of so-called “subprime” products.
This giant bank card brings together the quintessence of the endless appetite of outrageous capitalism. . .
This work is produced with “Touch. Feel” 3D printing technology to highlight the elements that compose it.
We even hid some secret codes there!
About Harrisart:
Harissart was born from the passion of two long-time friends. Their creations are largely inspired by their memories of adolescence and more generally of the 90s. The themes of currency, money and luxury also occupy a central place in Harissart's universe. Their works denounce its power, often parody it and sometimes even ridicule it.
Drawing their inspiration from popular iconography, they divert, modernize and customize objects straight from the past to provoke an emotion, a feeling, revive a good memory or create it. . .
