Harley-Davidson - Topper - AH Shriners - Parade Bike - 165 cc - 1962

Around 3000 Topper scooters have been produced between 1960 and 1965. It was designed and made by Harley-Davidson unlike the ligthweight units made by Aermacchi italia a few years later. This one is a former Shriners Parade bike which left the factory in 1962. Shriners International, formally known as the Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine (AAONMS) , is an American Masonic society established in 1870 and is headquartered in Tampa, Florida. It starts hot or cold, drives smooth and everything works on it. Lights, speedometer, horn, they all work. We fitted a new reed valve and gaskets, changed the points/condenser and ultrasonic cleaned the carburetor. It comes with the specific additional tail lights, windscreen and decals. The windscreen still has the routines cheat sheet on the back. A good, complete, running unit with papers. Being one of the very few Shriners converted toppers ever made this is probably one of the rarest units you'd be lucky to find.
