Harry Anthony DeYoung (American, 1893-1956) Path through the Bluebonnets, 1929 Oil on canvas 24 x 28 inches (61.0 x 71.1 cm) Signed and dated lower right: Henry Anthony de Young PROVENANCE: Private collection; By descent to the present owner. Harry DeYoung was an honor student at the Art Institute of Chicago before serving in the military during World War I. After teaching at various art schools, the artist founded the DeYoung Art School in San Antonio in 1928. After a stroke paralyzed DeYoung's right side, he painted with his left hand until his death in 1956.
