Hauerite Raddusa, Catania Province, Sicily, Italy "A sharp brown black floater cubo octahedron measuring about 1.5 inches in diameter. Traded this specimen from the George Vaux collection from Bryn Mawr College near Philadelphia when Harold Arndt was still curator." - Rock H. Currier Rock just couldn't resist a good Hauerite: the larger photo shows the two Hauerites , both from the Vaux collection, that are in this auction. The boy must have had a Manganese deficiency, or, Harold didn't know what they were worth. The form of this specimen is as good as a corresponding Krantz crystal model. Comes with a custom acrylic base and the original Vaux label indicating that it was purchased in 1895. Overall Measurements: 1.4 x 1.4 x 1.2 inches (3.5 x 3.5 x 3.0 cm) Offered at no reserve Provenance: Ex. Bryn Mawr College, Ex.
