Hawaii Pencil Drawing Kitty Cat Hiroshi Tagami (ZiK)

Up for sale from a recent estate in Honolulu Hawaii, this 1982 Hawaii framed large original graphite drawing on paper that is untitled but depicts a large Kitty cat laying in a pulled out drawer liking his front paw that was created by the locally well known artist Hiroshi Tagami (1929-2014). The condition is described below for more information please check the photos. Free local pick up possible!! In case you are interested in getting the piece conserved and cleaned I am working with a paper conserver.

More about the artist:
Hiroshi Tagami, late 20th Century, was born in Hawaii during the Depression years. He specializes in abstracts, landscapes, and still life works.
As one of twelve children, he had a Father who died at an early age. This forced him to spend a good deal of his youth working on Oahu plantations to help support his family during those lean times.
As a young adult Tagami enlisted in the military and served the United States during the Korean conflict. When returning home to Hawaii be began and operated a successful photography business for several years.
In 1964 he used his G.I. bill benefits to enroll at the Honolulu Academy of Arts. He began his professional art career at that time. He was the Founder and operator of the Botanical Gardens and Gallery on Oahu for several years. In 1998 he teamed up with Michael Powell, another Hawaiian artist to own and operate Tagami & Powell Fine Art Gallery on the Big Island, in Waimea, at the Kamuela Inn.
A prolific artist, using the palette knife technique, he has created over 6000 images over the years. His works are in public and private collections worldwide. His works are in the permanent collections of the AMFAC Corporation, Bank of Hawaii, State Foundation of Culture and the Arts (Hawaii), and the Walter Cecil Rawls Museum in Southhampton County, Virginia. Over the years he has instructed some of Hawaii's finest young artistic talent.

Condition: The drawing and frame are overall in acceptable pre-owned condition, the paper with faint brown spotting throughout, the frame with some scratches and scuff marks in places, the mat with faint brown staining too, The drawing can be taken out of the frame and shipped at a fraction of the rate quoted, the drawing was not inspected out of the frame"
