Head Emperor Caracalla - Neoclassical - Marble - Late 19th century

Beautiful head of emperor Caracalla; the features in chiaroscuro contrast emanate a strongly authoritarian pathos, typical of this character. Faithful neoclassical portrait, of an older age. The artefact is in good condition and still in its original patina. It is missing some fragments, as clearly visible in photos. A fragment of a restoration on the back, is no longer in place; it is missing since the time of purchase. In more recent times, my father has mounted the head on a non-pertinent marble base by means of a steel pin.
