Helen Frankenthaler
1928 - 2011
Untitled
signed Frankenthaler and dated 75 (lower right); dedicated For Marge/Christmas ‘75 Love, Helen (lower left)
acrylic on paper
38½ by 26 in.
97.8 by 66.1 cm.
Executed in 1975.
Condition Report:
This work is in very good condition overall. The upper and lateral edges of the sheet are deckled and the lower edge appears to have been spiral bound. There is an artist pinhole in the upper left corner. Upon close inspection, there is evidence of light handling to the edges and corners and there is very faint discoloration to the extreme edges. The sheet undulates softly, inherent to the artist’s chosen medium and working method. The sheet is hinged verso to the mat intermittently along the edges. Framed under Plexiglas.
Framed dimensions: 47 ½ by 35 in. (120.6 by 88.9 cm.)
Provenance:
