The 'Big White Pot' has become a modern classic. It is the end result of Hella Jongerius' exploration of medieval pots. Hella Jongerius has cast this vase from the moulds of restored medieval pots. The rough casting seams together with the traditional fingerprint of the ceramist give the impression of antique pots while the strong, solid shapes are a clear indication of modern industry. The Big White Pot is adopted in permanent museum collections all over the world, for example in those of the Stedelijk Museum 's Hertogenbosch, Capellini Milan, FNAC, Puteaux, and Musée de Rochechouart.
