Hellenistic Bead Necklace

2nd-1st century BC. A restrung necklace of fusiform carnelian beads with oblate carnelian beads between and two double-waisted spool-shaped gold beads, the centrepiece a later facetted fusiform carnelian bead; modern clasp. Property of a London collector; from her family's private collection; formerly with a London gallery; acquired in the 1990s.
