Hen Broadbill sleeper South Shore of Long Island. The two piece cork body is pegged together with no bottom board. The paint appears original with carved eyes and bill cheeks. The head is gracefully turned in a sleeping or preening position. A classic Long Island South Shore broadbill. Provenance: Acquired by descent from Dr. George R. Brush, of the settling Brush family of Southold, Long Island, New York.
