The Iron Age; allegorical scene with a warrior stands at center and brandishing a sword, at his feet lies some discarded armor, a drum and a cannon. An early work drawn by Goltzius en engraved in his workshop. Print from the second series of scenes from the Metamorphoses whose design occupied Goltzius about 1589. He probably also surveyed the engraving process by a member of his workshop and was involved in the publishing of the series. A first state before the second number at right. Signed and dated in the bottom right corner 'HG Excus A° 1590.
