Hendschel (Albert) & Reiffenstein (Carl Theodor) Sketchbook, with 125 pages of sketches, and a few watercolours, the majority likely by Hendschel, but also including a signed landscape study by Carl Theodor Reiffenstein, including caricature studies of Frankfurt society, works depicting fairytales and poems, with supporting material, 1852 - c.1865. ***Both artists were students of Jakob Becker at the Frankfurt Städelschule. These sketches are evidently in his tradition, as well as that of Ludwig Richter.
