Henri Harpignies (French, 1819-1916) The entrance to an Italian village signed with initials l.r., oil on panel (21.5 x 15cm; framed 31 x 24cm) Provenance: Sotheby's, London, 19 April 1978; J. W. B. Matthews, Lindsey House Collection, number 31. Condition Report: The panel is cradled and appears to be in plane. There is some fine cracking in places which appears in line with the supports. The work has a thick layer of glossy varnish. Not examined under UV light, for a full report please contact the department.
