Henry Davenport New England Coast Pastel Drawing

Impressionist landscape depicting waves crashing into a beach surrounded by rocky coasts. Davenport graduated from Harvard in 1904, before moving to Paris to study architecture at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts before enrolling in painting courses at the Julian Academy. Davenport eventually returned to Boston and continued his studies in Provincetown under Charles W. Hawthorne and George Elmer Browne.
