Provenance from the estate: "This painting comes to us from the family of Homer Harting, a twentieth century commercial artist who, with Henry Gasser and Al Mack, another commercial artist, traveled throughout New England together painting and generally appreciating life. These paintings by Henry Gasser were paintings that were gifted directly to the family by Henry Gasser in the early - to mid twentieth century. According to family, these three artists traveled to both Cape Anne and Monhegan Island to paint together.
