Henry Meynell Rheam (1859-1920) The dragon's cave (recto); Study for Lady of Shalott (verso) Signed (recto) Watercolour (recto); watercolour and charcoal (verso) 31.5 x 64 cm; 12½ x 25¼in Rheam used the composition of The dragon's cave in his 1908 work Once Upon a Time, with the knight and dragon replaced by a group of elves (See Sotheby's, London, 15 June 2000, lot 409).
