Henry Munyaradzi is a Zimbabwean Shona sculptor, born in 1931 in Guruve, Rhodesia (present-day Zimbabwe) and died on 27th July 1998. After a life as a farm worker, he joined the artistic community of Tengenenge in 1967 and remained there until 1975. From that time, he was introduced to the work of the serpentine, establishing himself as a master of direct cutting and one of the most famous Shona sculptors of his generation. He had already exhibited all over the world when he was part of the “Magiciens de la Terre”.
