Dating from the early to mid century period, this Hepplewhite style slant front desk is constructed from mahogany wood with decorative marquetry and banded inlay. The hinged slant lid features an inlaid floral cartouche and brass escutcheon, opening to reveal a fitted interior with mail slots, small drawers, a central cupboard door, and an inset tooled leather writing surface. Beneath the writing flap, the case houses four graduated drawers accented with perimeter line inlay and brass bail pulls. The freestanding unit rests on classic bracket feet, offering functional storage and workspace without requiring assembly.
