TLS, one page, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, August 7, 1939. Letter to William Hamilton, in part: "I have had a great number of meetings with the grass roots leaders throughout the western states during the last few months, as I am undertaking to assist the Republican organization in pulling their forces together for the battle in 1940. There is a growing seriousness and determination which I have not seen before in American life." In fine condition.
