The ovular tureen with sprig form handles to the sides and cover, basket-woven bands near rims, with applied molded pink and yellow roses; painted with various birds and insects. The under-plate of conforming design. Markings to tureen underside 'Blue Herend mark, 2/RO, 6; markings to underplate underside 'Blue Herend mark, 1121/RO, 136-A'. {Approximate dimensions: Tureen 11 1/4 high x 15 wide x 9 inches deep, underplate 1 3/4 high x 18 1/8 wide x 13 inches deep.}.
