Fabulous Breakthrough Oval Basket produced by Herend, Hungary, “Rothschild Bird” Collection, extremely rare, in pristine condition.

This magnificent reticulated oval basket has scalloped edge with gold trim, reticulated border highlighted in celeste blue on the inside and gold on the outside, pair of birds perched on branches with butterflies and flying insects medallion on the side.

First Choice Herend Collector item, designed to meet the expectations of the most pretentious ones !

This pattern was first created in 1850 for the Rothschild family of Europe and is considered to be the epitome of hand painting on porcelain.
Twelve different motifs portray a 19th century tale about Baroness Rothschild who lost her pearl necklace in the garden of her Vienna residence.
Several days later it was found by her gardener, who saw birds playing with it in a tree.

It is in pristine condition, Like New Never Used, marked with blue Herend shield mark and numbered on the back of the base, NO chips, NO cracks, NO repairs, please see the pictures as they are part of description.
