Herrengrunder double cup, dated 1768, embossed copper, gilded on the inside, partially gilded on the outside, 2 barrel-shaped cups designed to nest inside one another, smooth walls with gilded barrel bands, gilded bases engraved with the inscriptions “I was iron, now I am copper; 1768” and “I was iron, now I am copper; gold now adorns me, and I am a fine copper vessel,” Rim slightly out of round in one place; base of each slightly dented, scuffed; diameter of each approx. 7 cm, height of each approx. 6.5 cm, height when nested 12 cm
