An early 20th century Herschede Pattern No. 97 hall clock. 8-day weight driven time and strike movement with quarter hour striking on 9 tubular chimes with fancy engraved Brass dial, with painted Moon phase, a Silvered chapter ring, Roman numerals and three subsidiary dials including seconds, Chime/Silent and Westminster/8 Bells. Massive carved Mahogany case with repeated dentil moldings and oval beveled glass side panels features an arched hood with carved foliate crest over a conforming dial door with beveled glass flanked by turned columns with carved Ionic capitols and turned bases over a waist section with carved frieze featuring scrolled foliated and Bellflower design above a waist door with carved ends and beveled glass insert, squat raised panel base with molded plinth and compressed Paw feet. Original deep Mahogany finish has been cleaned and polished with minor wear, running when cataloged. 24 x 17 1/2 x 97" high overall.
